Spring Break in Texas!

Jordan and I went to spend our Spring Break in Nechanitz, Texas last week (my family's property) to spend time on the family property and see my mom's side of the family. We spent about nine days there and had such a fabulous time! We mainly went down to see my parents build a dam and a "tank" (that's what they call a pond in Texas) on my mom's part of the family property. We helped out by clearing the debris made by the bulldozers underneath the live oak trees. We did venture out one day to Austin and then another day we went to visit the Shiner Brewery in Shiner, Texas. Both towns are not very far away from Nechanitz.

Here are the pictures from our trip:

You can't go to Nechanitz, Texas in the Spring time and not snap a few pictures of the stunning bluebonnets! I love these flowers. I think they are sooo pretty!

Here are some pictures of the demolition that was going on at my parent's (mom's) property, as the dam and tank (aka pond) were being built. They dug out a pit in the ground to push all the large debris into the ground.

A picture of the debris pit:

Pictures of the large machinery used to build the dam and tank. We got to ride in the large one called "The Dirt Mover". It was COOL!:

When were there we celebrated my little cousin, Anna's, birthday. She turned 7 this year. Next year she will be a big, bad second grader! Watch out! Anna is such a cute little girl.

Here are pictures of my home state's capital. The Texas State Capital in Austin! It is made out of pink granite and is HUGE! We spent a couple of hours there and even ate in the cafeteria. While we were wandering around, a Mariachi (sp?) band started playing in the rotunda. They were wonderful musicians and it was very cool listening to them in the rotunda. Wow, what an awesome sound! They were lots of fun to listen to! PS- I LOVE the rotunda!

Here are photos of the trip to the Shiner Brewery in Shiner, Texas. We were able to try four different types of beer. Did you know that 98% of their beer is placed in glass bottles and only 2% is canned.

And last but not least, here is a picture of some of my mom's side of the family (my mom's younger sister: Aunt Laurie with her husband my Uncle Steve, my mom's brother: Uncle Jimmy, my dad and mom, Jordan, and I- my cousin Matt is taking a picture of us.)
